CAMACOL Holiday Food Basket Distribution
(“Jabas de Navidad”)
Wednesday, December 9, 2026 | LoanDepot Park
For more than four decades, CAMACOL has proudly carried forward one of South Florida’s most meaningful holiday traditions: the distribution of Holiday Food Baskets, affectionately known as the “Jabas de Navidad.” Established 41 years ago, by former CAMACOL President Mario O. Gutierrez, a respected community leader and PepsiCo executive, this program continues to provide holiday meals and hope to families facing food insecurity throughout our community
Through the CAMACOL Development Council Foundation, and with the generous support of our sponsors, trustees, members, volunteers, and community partners, CAMACOL will distribute 1,000 holiday food baskets, providing food assistance for an estimated 5,000 individuals during the holiday season.
The event is coordinated by Pedro Mesa, Chair of the CAMACOL Holiday Basket Committee and Director of Community Affairs for Sedano’s Supermarkets, with the support of the CAMACOL Board of Directors and Yurandy Llerena, CAMACOL Vice President and District Sales Manager for PepsiCo. The continued cooperation of the Miami Marlins makes it possible to conduct the distribution in a safe, efficient, and convenient manner for participating families.
Families will receive their holiday baskets through a drive-through distribution at the Marlins’ Center Field Garage. Food baskets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“We are honored to work alongside so many dedicated sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who make this event possible year after year,” said Pedro Mesa, Chair of the CAMACOL Holiday Basket Committee. “The Holiday Basket Program reflects the spirit of giving that defines our community and helps ensure that families can celebrate the season with dignity and hope.
“This program represents the very best of CAMACOL’s commitment to community service,” said Joe Chi, President of CAMACOL. “Through the CAMACOL Development Council Foundation and the generosity of our supporters, we are able to continue a tradition that has touched thousands of families over the past four decades.”
CAMACOL extends its heartfelt appreciation to its sponsors, trustees, members, volunteers, and friends whose generosity makes this important community initiative possible.
