Today, CAMACOL operates at the intersection of economic development, entrepreneurship, workforce advancement, and international collaboration.
CAMACOL Development Council — Economic Resilience Services
The CAMACOL Development Council fosters economic resilience and community stability throughout Miami-Dade County by providing residents, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and employers with programs and resources designed to strengthen economic self-sufficiency, workforce participation, business growth, food security, and long-term economic prosperity.
Building upon CAMACOL’s longstanding role as an economic and community development organization, the Development Council provides services that respond to the changing needs of Miami-Dade’s economy and help residents and businesses successfully participate in the region’s economic growth.
Programs and services include business development and technical assistance; entrepreneurship education; workforce readiness and skills development; financial and digital literacy; access to business and capital resources; mentoring and professional development; employment and career advancement initiatives; industry-specific training; and connections to government, private-sector, and community resources.
The Development Council also supports Miami-Dade’s arts, culture, and creative economy through cultural programming, partnerships, exhibitions, and activities that promote community engagement and contribute to the region’s economic and cultural vitality.
Through the Miami Media & Film Market (MMFM), the Development Council supports the audiovisual and creative industries by providing professional development, industry education, project development, mentorship, market access, and opportunities for collaboration among local, national, and international industry professionals. MMFM helps strengthen Miami-Dade’s position as a competitive center for film, television, digital media, and audiovisual production while creating opportunities for local businesses and creative professionals.
The Development Council also addresses food insecurity through the CAMACOL Holiday Basket Drive, CAMACOL’s longstanding community initiative providing food assistance to Miami-Dade households experiencing economic hardship.
Working with public agencies, educational institutions, employers, businesses, cultural organizations, and community partners, the CAMACOL Development Council connects residents and businesses with resources and opportunities that strengthen economic stability and expand local economic activity.
Services are provided based upon applicable program requirements and objective eligibility criteria and are not limited by race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or cultural background.
Our mission is to strengthen Miami-Dade’s economic resilience by advancing entrepreneurship, workforce development, the creative economy, arts and culture, food security, business growth, and opportunities that enable residents and businesses to become more competitive and economically self-sufficient.
